December 13

I completed my usual Monday chores (paying bills, paperwork, laundry, cleaning out the fridge) and took time to clean out the file drawer in my desk and do some shredding. Robbie spent most of the day studying and then took his last final exam for this semester, and made an "A", of course. Afterwards, he made some progress on the Christmas puzzle, we watched A Charlie Brown Christmas movie and then played a few games of dominoes (I'm actually winning every once in a while now.)

CREATIVE TIME
I have decided to create a December Daily mini-album using the photo collages and short paragraph from my daily blog posts for this month. I have been creating the photo collages as a 6x9 page in Photoshop Elements. My mini-album will be 6x12, so I took two of the photo collages, combined them on a 12x12 file, and added a digital paper to the 3" on the left. I had the first batch of 12x12 pages printed last week.

I'll cut these pages in half and have a 6x12 page for each day. These will be the pages on the right side of the album. I'll adhere patterned paper to the back of each page to create the left page for each day. On these I'll include the paragraph I've been using to describe our day and some small embellishments.

Today I created the cover for my album using a 6x12 piece of chipboard covered with red cardstock. I added stickers, Cricut cut numbers for the year, and a sentiment from an old Christmas card.

I originally thought I wouldn't have time to create an album, but after completing several daily posts, it occurred to me that I could easily turn them into an album. I'm not sure yet how I'll bind the album, maybe using rings or I might see if our local scrapbook store has a bind-it-all that I can use.

Today's Christmas Decoration Feature - Rope Bunny
I bought this cute rope bunny years ago when my sister was doing home parties (I think it was from Christmas Around the World). There's nothing special about her except that she's just so cute and I like the way she's weighted to sit on the edge of a shelf. I have her displayed on the bookshelf in the front room. She's been with me for a lot of years and still makes me smile with that cute straw hat and those rope arms.

I know this is a busy time of year for everyone, and I want to thank each of you who stop by to read my blog and leave such delightful comments. I'm enjoying documenting this December, our holiday outings, and even the ordinary routines of our days. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

  2. How is it that even with Christmas prep and daily chores your days sound so laid back and calm?!? Yes, that is a hint of envy you detect. And I'm not surprised you decided to turn those blog posts into an album - couldn't miss out on all the fun could you?
