Everyday Items Used for Unique Crafts

Last month when we visited Ripley's Believe It or Not, I was intrigued by some of the everyday items that have been used in craft projects. I have been happily scrapping away with my stash of paper and embellishments, but I thought I would share these ideas in case any of you are looking for something new to try with items you might have around the house

Potato Chips

Beer Cans

Pecans

Pennies
Postage Stamps

Rattlesnack Rattlers

OK, I admit, rattlesnack rattlers might not be an everyday item, but it's certainly a fun look at the state of Texas. Please let me know if you try any of these unique crafting ideas! For now, I'll be using up my scrapbooking stash and occasionally incorporating an everyday item into a layout.

  1. while certainly unique, I don't see me trying any of this. I still have plenty of scrapbook stash to keep me busy!

  2. My daughter is a really big Ripley's fan - my mum buys her an annual every Christmas! Hand painted potato chips is right up her alley - I can just imagine her trying this.

    A great fun post Melissa

  3. Wow! I thought I was pushing the boat out a bit using recycled packaging, ends of string, a piece of wire mesh and so on in this weekend's project! Much as I love looking at these, though, I might not try to squeeze in any crisps or rattlers at this late stage... ;-)

Such fun, thanks for sharing! x

  4. Fun post! I've always wanted to paint portraits on potato chips. I can't believe someone beat me to it! LOL I think I'll just stick to the craft store....though I have used coins on projects before. :)
