It's week 2 of Carolyn's Finding Fun and the theme this week is Houses. While I was listening to the Paperclipping Members-Only Webinar on National Scrapbook Day, I decided to add a house to my art journal. My computer is at my desk rather than my craft table, so I simply opened my art journal to a new page & pulled over the trash can that sits under my craft table. I constructed a house with bits & pieces of packaging, ribbons, and patterned paper that I was throwing away. I then added more detail with some markers and colored pencils.
[Disclaimer: I am not an artist. I really can't draw (unless stick figures count). I'm not an architect and have never worked in construction. However, the idea is to have fun - which I did. Feel free to laugh out loud . . . that way I'll know you're having fun, too.!]
Be sure to check out Carolyn's other ideas to celebrate Houses this week!
Love what you've done,Melissa.
ReplyDeletehmph, not an artist huh? I would disagree! What a wonderful house you've created!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I think it looks cool. Love the ribbons you added. I am with you - no artist here either so I always shy away from art journals.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try a house too...and it would fit perfectly for my gratefullness post in my art journal this week...yea! TFS...it's a fun page!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been meaning to look at her blog challenge, sounds neat, anything to get me a little more creative if possible!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love how you've used all the bits that would have been thrown away - and as for not artistic, well I certainly think it is arty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in.
I am always drawn towards house motifs - they really resonate with me and this one I love! It's warm and cosy and happy looking. What could be nicer?
ReplyDeleteLooks like very nice house to me Melissa!
