#14 A Person Playing With A Ball

I was able to capture a photo for #14 - A Person Playing With A Ball - on Rinda's 2012 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt list when we ventured out on a very hot & humid Friday evening to watch the Texas Rangers play the Minnesota Twins. These guys obviously spend a large portion of their time "playing" with a baseball! We had great seats right behind home plate, however that meant there was a netting between us & the players. I took my digital point & shoot camera, so these are not the best photos, but you can still see the ball (or the blur that represents the ball as it sped by!). Here's the one that I think best represents "a person playing with a ball" as the second baseman stoops over to scoop up the ball during the warm up.

The Rangers, unfortunately, lost the game, but I enjoyed trying to capture photos of the ball in play.

Were you able to spot the ball in each photo? (Let me just say there were quite a few additional shots where I completely missed the ball - that thing certainly moves fast sometimes!)

  1. I did miss the one at first base but I think it must be in his glove. Great shots!

  2. Oh well done - the joy of digi is that you can throw away the ones where you missed the ball!
I was watching two men play with some balls today - the Wimbledon final (on TV) - I never thought to take a photo though - it was too exciting!

  4. awesome pictures! It is hard to capture the ball in play, I remember doing it when Steve was playing (and the ball moved a bit slower than the Rangers ball!)

  8. I love these! I tried to get some cricketers when I was in Ireland but didn't have my camera with me.
