Although I shared this story in a previous post, I am revisiting it again today as part of Sian's Storytelling Sunday, a fun blog activity that takes place on the first Sunday of each month when Sian encourages us to tell a story in words or photos
As I was sorting through my travel embellishments a few days ago, I discovered a small printed SOS bottle, and that little slip of paper immediately sparked the inspiration to create a layout about our message in a bottle. This layout will go in our 10th Anniversary Cruise album.
Journaling reads: Robbie had this message planned ahead of time. He saved this bottle and packed it in his luggage, and we made a stop at Home Depost to pick up a cork before heading to the dock the day we boarded the ship.
It's been six months and we haven't received a letter or email saying that anyone has found our message, however we have enjoyed concocting our own stories about what might be happening to it. I personally think it is still floating along somewhere in the Carribean - going one way for a while, then being swished in the other direction as yet another huge cruise ship sails by (we were amazed at the number of cruise ships we encountered on the seas and in the ports we visited). Robbie speculates that it may have somehow traveled out into the Atlantic Ocean and will some day land along the coast of Africa. And then, of course, there's the possibility that it's washed ashore in an unpopulated area where it will languish in obscurity forever.
