I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I received all these wonderful quilling supplies for Christmas (7 months ago!) and just recently decided to give it a try. Luckily for me, Robbie is an expert gift-giver, so he made sure I had everything I needed: a beginner's kit with all the essentials and an instruction guide, a quilling coach tool, two extra packs of quilling paper, and an inspiration book!
I thought it was only fair that the first piece I quilled should go to Robbie, so I created this tag as a thank you note. The quilled heart was my first effort at quilling, and to be perfectly honest . . . it's really fun!
I think you'll definitely see some quilled embellishments on future layouts and cards! Have you tried quilling? Do you have any tips to share as I continue to learn this new skill?
I've seen some beautiful quilled cards....but it always looks very trickyand fiddly and precise to me...not sure I'd manage it.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried quilling, but it does look like fun. Isn't it wonderful to have a husband who understands and encourages?
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it but looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteAh, that is so sweet! It's something I've always wondered about but figured I do enough as it is....didn't want to add another thing to the list. But I'll be interested to see how you do. Keep us posted! :)
ReplyDeleteI bought all the supplies years ago (as in probably 5 or 6 years ago) and never used them and ultimately sold them about two years ago in one of my massive stash clean-outs. No time or patience I guess!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read it, I thought it said quilting. Have fun learning your new craft. I've never felt a desire to do quilling but I do love quilting.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it was too time consuming and detailed for me. The yag is adorable, you are blessed to have a man that understands your crafting :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried this Melissa - your card looks great. And Robbie is clearly a gem of a man!
ReplyDeleteI tired quilling but never got the hang of it, so gave my supplies away. I think it looks great!

ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) Birthday!!
