I started with the basic layout of this next pre-printed paper as my starting point also, however I once again covered the pencil and apple border as it didn't go with the theme of the layout.
Adding a patterned paper strip along the top and bottom, then a piece of wood grain washi tape along the edge of that, matting the photos on cardstock, choosing letter stickers for a title, and writing in the journal box were all the steps it took to complete this layout.
What do think? Do these layouts look old and dated like the original papers? Or does the addition of a few "new" items bring them up-to-date?
I have to say you've done a great job with these. I saw the first one and thought to myself I'd have given that one away! But you layout transformed it.
ReplyDeleteI love how you managed to alter the paper. I especially love that little blue check. Nice layout!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely up to date :) Be careful you are inspiring me to use up some old papers!
ReplyDeleteYour additions have totally changed the papers! Instead of using them "as is" (I would totally have donated them) you basically just used them as a layout template and built from there. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteHow many more pre-printed pages do you have? Not that I'm complaining--I enjoy being dazzled by your creativity!
ReplyDeleteNo, I think they look great! In fact, it makes me think it's time for new pre printed pages, maybe in a Project Life style? I think they could catch on
ReplyDeleteOh you are doing so well with this challenge - everything old can be new again!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Melissa-,

Another great challenge! I love that you are using the spirit of the original paper but still adding in your own supplies. Both layouts are great! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cheri - I donated the ones I'd been given as they weren't my style. I'm so enjoying seeing how you've created something quite different from them. Definitely don't look dated.
