Remember that layout me and Mama and my crafty friends created at
my crafty birthday party/class? Like many classes, we ended up with a completed layout, except for the photos. While I love learning and practicing techniques (like using templates and creating a flower with 100 small pieces), I often avoid these types of classes because I'm not sure I'll have photos in the right sizes to go on the layout.
However, I decided the perfect photos for my birthday layout would be the ones from the party/class itself. I printed them at home so they fit perfectly.
Mama liked it so much she had me print photos for her layout, too!
Do you take in-person classes that result in a finished layout? Do you add photos after returning home? Or are they piled up somewhere waiting to be used?
um if you would just print me a set of pictures my layout will be finished too! :)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are perfect for this layout! I haven't taken an in person class in many years but I do have layout from classes that I never did anything with. For the same reason. LOL. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't taken an in-person scrapbook class in many years. I usually make it to a card class once or twice a year, but I'm unaware of anywhere to take a scrapbook class in the area. My layouts are always built around the photos, but that doesn't mean there aren't piles of photos waiting to be scrapped!
ReplyDeleteGreat finished page! I'm like you, though, and don't pre-make pages and have to find photos that fit. I usually start with my photos, not end with them. It would make a good creative exercise!
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the reasons I stopped taking classes - I don't like teaching them that way either. But some people really do enjoy them :)
ReplyDeleteI've never taken a class (only online ones)..I only wish there was somewhere here I could, it would be fun. Though I suspect you might have hit the nail on the head with your observation that layouts could end up stacked up somewhere, unfinished!

ReplyDeleteI love this layout mainly because of your bright smiling face and the yellow. I can't remember the last class I took other than online. I am such a solo creator, I get distracted by other people lol

ReplyDeleteYes, I have a stack of layouts from CKC that I need to finish up - but I set one out on my desk just yesterday. I have a big envelope of photos from Shutterfly that arrived this week, so hopefully I can match some pictures to pages. In person classes are very motivating to me, they always send me scrapping afterwards, even if I don't finish up the class projects first.
