December Duos

This year we decided to avoid most of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, preferring instead to stay home and watch Christmas movies most evenings. Of course, the ice storm at the beginning of the month kept us in, then I wasn't feeling good for a few days, then last week I came down with the flu . . . so I guess it's a good thing we didn't have a lot of plans anyway! (I'm feeling much better & should be 100% to celebrate the New Year!)

I did, however, participate in BPC's December Duos workshop. The class was designed around sets of words (warm/cold, red/green) and over the course of the 12 days before Christmas a different teacher shared examples of photos and inspiration. The idea was to use an 8x8 Project Life album with divided page protectors, but I decided to include my duos in my 2013 album.

I chose a couple of 12x12 divided page protectors to work with and printed all my elements as 4x6 photos. I started with a title card, journaling & a quote. (These digital elements were provided with the workshop - I simply used a yellow & a green patterned papers to color the duo cards & journal cards.) For each duo, I chose a set of words and added two photos & a journal box. (Click on each one for a larger photo & clearer journaling.)

Here's how these will look in the 12x12 divided page protectors.

How did you document your December this year?

  7. What a lovely set of photos and journaling. Glad you are feeling better and will be well to celebrate the new year.

Your two trees made me smile as when we were working through the "Your December Story" prompts as a family one of the plans for NEXT Christmas from Wookie was, "we'll have to decorate more next year - definitely including a tree." To which I replied, "Only one?" as so many friends in the US have more than one :)
