This past weekend we drove the 5 1/2 hours down to southeast Texas to attend my twin nieces' birthday party, but they didn't know we were coming. We arrived about a half hour before the start of the party. The twins were already out playing in the bounce house that was set up in the backyard, so I snuck out the back door to surprise them. Robbie was watching out the patio doors and captured this great series of photos.
Of course I had to get in on the
FUN in that bounce house and all three of my nieces wanted to slide down with me!
Did you notice we were all wearing FUN socks?
And since I shared
a photo of having my hair done last month, I thought it only fair that I share this photo of
my Pun'kin Natashia braiding my hair so I could have more
FUN! It certainly made it easier to climb around the bounce house with my hair out of the way!
In my quest to cultivate a spirit of play (
as Stacy Julian suggested in her presentation at Play! in Anaheim),
Pun'kin Natashia and I skipped to the end of the driveway (and back!) to check out her new vehicle.
Of course the best part of the weekend was getting to spend time with Robbie. We've always enjoyed road trips, even very quick ones, and this trip was no exception. I also truly appreciate his willingness to capture all these
FUN photos and to spend eleven hours on the road (half of it in the pouring rain) just so we could celebrate two beautiful girls turning nine-years-old!
What did you do to cultivate a spirit of play and add more
FUN into your life this past weekend?
It looks like you had lots and lots of playtime - what a fun trip. We managed a bit of fun ourselves this past weekend - and it certainly does motivate us when we get back. Hope you have a great week!
