It's A Wonderful Life

If you've been around my blog over the past few years, you may remember that my niece Pun'kin Natashia is a budding rather accomplished young actress and performs with several local theater groups. My short road trip last week was planned so that I could attend yet another one of her performances!

First, I enjoyed a fabulous day visiting with my sister Brenda and my nieces, Natashia, Paige & Laurie. We played games and sang Christmas carols and colored and exchanged Christmas gifts. I had a FUN lunch out for a belated celebration of Natashia's birthday, then Brenda made yummy chocolate/pumpkin muffins for an afternoon snack and a delicious supper of pulled chicken sandwiches.
It's a Wonderful Life is one of the movies that Robbie and I watch each year. Several years ago, we saw a musical production of this show at a historic theater in Dallas. We (especially Robbie) can quote lines from this show, and I've even titled our chronological scrapbook albums Our Wonderful Life. So, I was definitely excited to be able to attend this show.

Natashia was absolutely fantastic in her role as Mary Bailey! (No, of course I'm not prejudiced, I'm just stating the facts!) Luckily the theater allowed non-flash photography, and I was able to capture a few photos of her onstage.

Of course, when I take a quick road trip by myself, the best part is coming home to Robbie! This was my greeting when I returned home Saturday - lunch was ready, a new snowman decoration welcomed me, and Christmas music was playing in the background! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful hubby!

Yes, it truly is a wonderful life!

  3. I bet she will remember it all the more because she knows her aunt made a special trip to see her. These things mean a lot!
