The Painted Guru Summit - FREE event
As part of my initiative to act on INSPIRATION rather than saving it for later, I signed up for The Painted Guru Summit free event when I first read about it a couple of weeks ago. This 21-day event started yesterday and features an audio artist interview each day. I've already enjoyed the first two interviews, which run a little less than 30 minutes. The artists are also offering a variety of discount codes and freebies. I thought I'd share a little about these first two days in case some of y'all would like to join in for the remainder of the event. (Click HERE to sign up.)
The first artist interviewed is Flora Bowley, a painter that I had not heard of before. I really like her enthusiasm for playing with paint and having FUN rather than simply striving to create an amazing painting. She talks about how painting is a very physical activity for her with lots of movement - there's a FUN video of her completing a painting on the home page of her website. She also talked about caring for her mom in the last few months of her life and how she honored one of her mom's requests by painting her coffin - which you can see in this post.
Today's interview was with Claudine Hellmuth. If I remember correctly, I first found out about this event through Claudine's newsletter, which I've subscribed to since taking her Composition for Collage class at Big Picture Classes a few years ago. She shared about how she decided at a young age to be an artist and encourages artists to be aware of the seasons and cycle of creativity.
While these interviews are not necessarily inspiring me to make a particular project or create something specific, I'm finding that the INSPIRATION comes in hearing the artists' stories and how art "heals the heart, inspires the soul, and soothes the mind." Will you be joining me for this free event?

It sounds fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThose definitely sound like some inspirational classes. I can't wait to see what you create afterwards!
