One of the techniques that I shared at the recent Demos & Devotionals Bible Journaling "crops" I hosted is how to use stencils and
Gelatos to add words and illustrations in the margins or across a Bible or hymnal page.
I'm using a variety of
Clear Scraps stencils like this one.
After taping the stencil down with a small piece of washi tape, I add a little
Gelato inside the stencil and use a
sponge dauber to rub the
Gelato around.
The sponge daubers work fairly well, as you can see on these pages illustrated by a couple of the crop participants.
However, this weekend I sampled a new product (
Fantastix Ink Applicators)
for the first time. These small applicators are perfect for getting into the small spaces in these stencils! They come in a brush tip and a bullet tip. I'm excited to add some of these to my tools for Bible journaling and other stenciling projects!
Joining in today with
Sian's Memorandum Monday meme sharing something
NEW (something you did over the weekend FOR THE FIRST TIME or something you learned and DIDN'T KNOW BEFORE).
Now that does look like a handy little tool. I really like the sunburst on the page.
ReplyDeleteI have some gelatos on order and I can't wait to try them. Now I might have to look out for these too. I love it when I learn something new on a Monday. Thanks Melissa :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good week
How very crafty. Gelatos - I think these would be better for me than the ice cream type of Gelato. I like the joy stamped across the music sheet.
ReplyDeleteI have some Gelatos but they haven't seen any action in a long time. Need to get them out of the drawer and onto the desk. I've never seen the brush tips, but have used the bullet tip Fantast/x's.
ReplyDeletelooks like a great new toolx
ReplyDeleteI've never used gelatos but like the look you get with them.
ReplyDeleteI've never used gelatos but have seen them used in bible journaling. I may have to have a look at some
