When I saw the geometric scrapbook design post from Shimelle's Inspiration Party, I knew I wanted to scraplift the idea! In The 20 Project class, Shimelle is challenging herself to take ten minutes to pull together supplies, then 20 minutes to complete a layout. Since I already had photos printed for my layout and some leftover supplies from the Road Trip layout I'd just completed, I was able to pull my supplies in 12 minutes.
I started with two sheets of cardstock for my background, then a variety of patterned paper from my scrap bin that I punched 1 1/4" squares. I randomly arranged the pieces in a diamond design on my background, trying not to have similar pieces right beside each other.
This design provided a perfect backdrop for the title page for our Arizona Road Trip. I included a title and the date, however I didn't include any journaling as I plan to do a full sheet of journaling on a companion page.
I scattered a few small bits & pieces (yellow brads, blue stars, red dots) around the background and am thrilled with how this turned out.
While I was successful with pulling my supplies together quickly, I must admit that it took me quite a bit longer than 20 minutes (about an hour) to complete this page!
I find sticking it all down is the long bit. I relax when I'm planning and then I concentrate hard when I'm sticking. I love the happy mix you have achieved with your squares
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of punching, but the results were well worth it! What a happy layout!
ReplyDeleteOh that is a great design and use of scraps. The additions of the brads/dots looks lovely too.
