A FRESH Start

Happy New Year Y'all!

Once again, I've chosen a word to focus on throughout the year. I considered several words over the past few weeks; however, when this word came to mind it seemed to fit perfectly for 2018.

FRESH

In all honesty, I have a pretty wonderful life. While there are a couple of areas where there could be some major improvements, for the most part I simply want to do some sprucing up, just giving things a FRESH look or feel or routine.

I'll be setting goals and intentions around this word as I contemplate the year ahead and work through the January prompt in the 2018 One Little Word class. For now, I've chosen three areas to work on this month.

FRESH Insight into the Word - I'll be diving into the Word, reading through the New Testament (with this Facebook group), and preparing for several upcoming classes.

FRESH Food - For me right now, this means adding more daily fruits and vegetables as well as cooking and preparing meals at home (after several months of too much eating out).

FRESH Air - I'm planning to get out for a walk most days. In fact, Robbie and I headed out for our traditional New Year's Day walk this morning. The sun was shining, but it was a very cold 14 degrees!

A great start to my FRESH year!

Have you chosen your word for 2018? Please share your plans in the comments.

  1. Happy New Year Melissa! I'll be joining you again in One Little Word - with my word being "PLAY" - which will hopefully be in sharp contrast to 2017 which was all work, work, work, and more work...

  2. Melissa that is a great word to work with. Fresh makes me think of deep breathes, inhaling all the positive. I look forward to seeing how you unravel this word.

By the way, nice hat (col).

  6. I know you saw my word is Journey. I'm with you on the fresh food.... not being able to run out to the grocery to get what I need for dinners has meant more dashing out for dinner way too often around here too. Need to fix that

  7. What a great word to choose! I don't think I've ever seen anyone choose it before, but it's just a perfect one, and you've already given it some great context.
