Seeing … a creative idea for old paperback books: the covers have been removed & the spines painted white to give the look of wood. Words are stamped on the spines, then three books are bound together with twine.
Listening … to podcasts on my exercise walks around the neighborhood on sunny days. I inadvertently captured this screenshot of my phone as I was trying to adjust the volume on my new AirPods.
Organizing … our to-read books by color. I think this gives us a new (colorful) perspective when we're deciding what to read next.
What are you noticing this week?
I do like how those books have been repurposed! Did you know you can actually commission colour-coordinated home libraries?
ReplyDeleteOh I haven't heard of that, but I do think for me it's more FUN to organize my own library.
DeleteThanks for joining in today Melissa. Interesting theme of books re-purposed, great display for a show or backdrop. I really must get into more podcasts, it just might help me walk longer. I chuckled about reading by colour ... that's an interesting way to pick a book - a fresh look.
ReplyDeleteI've never arranged books by color, but I definitely have chosen books by their covers! And almost always, they've been great reads.
ReplyDeleteLove those stacked books - that would be so easy to recreate!
ReplyDeleteLove your books arranged by color. And I love the new farmhouse look of the books all looking the same. I think the easier way to get it is to just stack your books with open side of the spine outward. That could be because I would never deface books, even paperback ones, in that way. I have made colorful covers for them from scrapbook papers and then bound them up with ribbons and doodads. In fact, that might be a fun project for spring decorating.
