I really liked this Quick Quotes Chevron Kit, but, when I started flipping through our photos, I decided to create two one-page layouts as I was completing our 2012 albums.
I used the general layout for the right hand page to begin this first layout about our (then) new Suburban. A couple of the quote cards from the kit worked great, too.
My other layout began with the basic design of the left hand page in the kit, but I modified it to include more photos. And, as I began working with these papers, I discovered that some of them were yellow on the opposite side, which worked better with my photos.
I used another Quick Quotes kit for photos from a 2013 Inspiration Outing to see the Hotel Texas exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. I used parts of the exhibit brochure for my title and journaling.
The Summer FUN kit was created exclusively for our local scrapbook store. The original was designed for three photos on the left and one large one on the right, but I think it works perfect with these seven photos from our vacation to Tennessee in 2013.
And, finally, the Lickety Split 4th of July Kit came with lots of strips of patterned paper and a template to create the patriotic starburst across the top of the two-page spread.
I was following the directions carefully, but still inadvertently cut one of the papers incorrectly. So, I simply chose a paper from my stash to replace it and am thrilled with this layout from July 4th of last year! Can you guess which paper I added?
These are all FUN. I sometimes think I get tired of patriotic color kits for summer, but then every time I use one I am simply overjoyed. The red, white and blue is just classic, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI love the distinctive look of Quick Quotes and I uncovered a box of their page kits this week. I rearrange, purge, and prioritize my supplies all the time, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why from time to time I am surprised by supplies I forgot I had, especially kits. Just this week, I did manage to add photos to a couple of pages bases I had put together from kits months ago. I could scrap all summer that way.
Great layouts - I have even scraplifted a few. Love the 4th of July layout especially. I owned a Suburban and when we originally got it, I thought it was going to be too big. That was my favorite vehicle and would love to go back to one.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly maximized those kits. Great layouts. I still think the kit you designed with the yellow floral paper is my favourite.
