I live, serve the Lord, and craft in the great state of Texas. I am married to my best friend, Robbie, who often surprises me with new items for my Bible journaling and scrapbooking stash. We both enjoy cooking, reading, traveling, working crossword puzzles (in pen!), and relishing the life God has given us.
I am a teacher by passion and by training and truly enjoy helping others learn. Over the years, I have taught everything from Children’s Church to the Young-at-Heart (elderly) Sunday School, from middle school technology classes to university level business courses. I have taught and coached in online and in-person scrapbooking, cardmaking, photo organization, illustrated Bible journaling and mixed media classes. I have served and volunteered in numerous ministries including teaching and leading ladies’ Bible studies, writing and leading ladies’ retreats, co-leading Financial Peace University, coordinating vacation Bible school, assisting in the nursery, stocking the food pantry, and cooking meals for the homebound, as well as coordinating fundraising banquets and serving on the Board of Directors for the Christ for India missionary organization.
I began scrapping in elementary school, putting memorabilia in the scrapbook my Mama started when I was born. In 2010, I began participating in online classes, using a digital workflow plan, started sharing my photos, stories, and layouts on a blog, and changed from chronological to inspirational scrapbooking . . . all the while having lots of FUN with this great hobby. I am so glad to have a hobby that allows me to preserve our memories in a way that is also an outlet for my creativity. When I'm not gluing pretty pieces of paper together to record our stories, I also create custom scrapbooks-for-hire.
I am known for being very organized (I often joke that I was born organized). My favorite snack is anything chocolate, and I know that everything is better when paired with an ice-cold can of Coca-Cola! I enjoy baking, and when I follow Grandma's recipe and remember her advice to "cook it until it's done," I make a delicious pecan pie.
I am an avid reader and am typically reading four or five books at a time. I believe in lifelong learning and enjoy taking online and in-person classes. I hold a Master of Business Administration degree in Management from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lamar University as well as a Texas Teacher Certificate in Composite Business.
