Learn Something New Every Day Album

Completed my mini-album for Shimelle's Learn Something New Every Day class. Some days the lesson I learned was totally new to me (I miss blogging!) while some days the lesson was something I already knew but needed a reminder of (Some jobs take less time than I think, so just do them!) and others were just for fun (My favorite color is still yellow!).

I started the month keeping up with my pages and using a digital template to create a "lesson block" for each day then creating my layout using one of the Try Something New prompts. I was also writing my lesson in the format "I can ..... IF ......", however as the month went on I realized that I wasn't enjoying the process and was having trouble coming up with the lesson in that format. So, I simply changed what I was doing midstream. Here are two pages from before the change.

And here's the change taking place!

Some days I simply added patterned papers and my handwritten lesson while other days I included a few embellishments or a photo.

And today's lesson is one that I'm very excited about!

This was a great project and I've made a note on next year's planning calendar to do it again next September. I also have an idea for a learning project that I might start in January, it's still very much in the "idea" stage but I would love to do it as a fun challenge on my blog.

  1. Wow! you completed your book already, I haven't quite finished yet... I did this class for the first time last year and found it terribly difficult to learn every single day. This year, I have not found it so difficult - so I suppose that is a lesson in itself!!! lol Your album looks gorgeous, well done!

  5. WOW - well done for completing it - I have 4 pages to go and they may take another month to finish if my track record applies!

  6. I hope to finish my LSNED album this weekend. These last few days were a bit of a struggle to come up with something, but I will get this project completed!

  7. And what an excellent lesson to finish on! It really can be done in a month - and your album looks fabulous. I'd love to be able to pick it up and flick through it.

I think I'm going to join you in Nic Howards new class.

  8. I loved your last lesson too. made me smile. Love how you've done your book and wow to being upgraded at the hotel and to keeping up with the exercises. If you don't lose weight, try measuring yourself. Apparently you can't lose inches and pounds at the same time x
