(1) informative chapters about everything from starting and maintaining a blog to comments and etiquette; and
(2) descriptions and stories about numerous creative blogs.
For me, the book was more inspirational than educational since most of the information about blogging I've learned over the past year. However, I was inspired by all the photos of creative blogs and encouraged that there are so many of us who enjoy the friendships and connections made through the blogosphere. I really liked reading about the reasons others decided to blog and their advice to new bloggers.
Before sending the book on its way, I'm planning to take the next couple of days to visit many of the blogs mentioned in the book. I have the perfect excuse for hibernating inside and bloghopping - it's snowing!
Yes, our official first (and hopefully only) snow of the year. When we arrived at church this morning, it was rainy and very cold. After church, we walked out to the parking lot to find an inch of snow covering the car! I realize that many people continue their normal everyday comings and goings despite the snow, but it is such a seldom occurrence here that I tend to just wait until it all melts before heading out again. As I look out my window today, here's what I see.
Thus, I'll be strolling through cyberspace or snuggled up reading a good book for the rest of today and most of tomorrow. Happy winter everyone!
I do love the new look of your blog! Thanks for sharing info on the book. It does sound like one I'd enjoy, but maybe not want to actually buy it. I'm thinking visiting and commenting on at least one new blog a week might be a good goal for me in 2011.
ReplyDeleteThe kids all wish they could be there to play in the snow.
ReplyDeleteI love snuggling up in the warm on snow days, it's a good opportunity to do craft related things :)
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious, a day snuggling up with a book and some creative blogs! Love your bright, fresh look ...
ReplyDeleteLove the new blog look! You've done more with the book in a couple weeks than I did in months of owning it! (I did read it and check out a few of the blogs)
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks beautiful, Melissa!! We've got an inch of snow here, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI do love this book and I hope to blog more this year. Your blog is wonderful and I have so enjoyed looking around. You have inspired me to be a better blogger. Found some things we have in common - puzzles, dominoes, card making and a healthier 2011. I am enjoying the next book for book club so definitely hope to make it there.
