2010 was truly a revolutionary year for me in scrapbooking. I created over 250 layouts, most of them 12x12. I also created several mini-albums, photo album scrapbooks, photo books, and altered projects. I took apart the the scrapbook Mama began when I was born (as it was falling apart and the acidic papers were affecting the photos). I created a brand new School Years 12x12 scrapbook for my Kindergarten through 12th grade years, participated in numerous online classes, began using Photoshop Elements, and converted my photo processing and storage system to Stacy Julian's Library of Memories system. I finally began processing my digital photos and created a digital workflow plan. I tried new techniques on my scrapbook layouts, created layouts with only one photo (something I did previously if there was only one photo from the event), participated in sketch challenges, and began blogging.
This week's challenge in the Library of Memories Community was to "find photographic evidence (in your storage binders or category drawers) of people, places and things that were NEW to you in 2010 and commemorate these on your "first" page of the NEW year." I decided to create a layout about all the new changes in my scrapbooking. I used the Creative Scrappers Sketch #137 as inspiration for the layout. So, here's my first layout for 2011.
My scrapbooking goals for this year include:
*complete the weekly Library of Memories Community challenge
*participate in a sketch challenge at least twice a month
*no scrapbooking purchases with the exception of photos & adhesives for 6 months (I have plenty of scrapping stash to work with, not to mention I received a huge pile of new supplies for Christmas!)
*no new online classes for 6 months, unless they are free (I am currently enrolled in the Library of Memories Community workshop and the Wellness Journey workshop at BPC, and I'm enjoying the three month's of Masterful Scrapbook Design that I won a couple of months ago. I also want to go back through many of the classes I took this past year and complete the assignments I did not finish during the class.)
*complete and/or update my unfinished mini-album projects, specifically Games We Play, Permission to Live a Creative Life, Do-It-Yourself, and December Daily
For January specifically, I want to:
*process all December photos using my digital workflow plan
*complete my December Daily mini-album
*complete the 2010 page in my Through the Years album
*complete a digital December monthly overview layout
I am looking forward to creating lots of fun layouts this year as well as documenting the stories of our lives. Anyone else setting scrapbooking goals for the year?
Wow, I am totally impressed with what you accomplished in 2010 and what you want to achieve this year! Don't forget the free classes at Two Peas in A Bucket on the 1st, 10th, 20th and 30th of each month!
