As the new year begins, many of us make resolutions for the coming year, commitments that we hope to keep. This year I have only one resolution, one that is really a part of my life all the time - to draw closer to the Lord and follow His guidance in my life. While this is something that I constantly strive for, the new year is a good time to re-affirm that commitment and remind myself of the tangible things I can do towards that resolution: (1) Daily quiet time with the Lord that includes a devotional, Bible reading & prayer; (2) Regular church attendance; (3) Interaction with others who share my beliefs; (4) A time of fasting; (5) Participation in a Bible Study.
Of course, I am a natural planner and goal setter, so in addition to this resolution I will be setting monthly goals for myself throughout the year. My goals will often be focused on healthy living, reading, scrapbooking, organizing projects and blogging. I'll be sharing some of my goals in these areas each day throughout this first week of 2011.
How about you? Do you have a resolution for the new year?
I like yours. I have decided to have a "word" for the year. 2011 word is Trust... as in Trust God with every aspect of my life & know that He knows what's best for me, my children, my husband...
ReplyDeleteI do not make resolutions, but I have set goals for the year and put them on my blog as a form of accountability.
