March Greens

This month's color in Brenda's quilting scrap challenge group is green, so this week I've dug out some green papers, green scraps, and green letter stickers to use on my layouts.

I Can Walk By Myself - I created this first layout using a Sketchy Thursdays four photo sketch. I love these photos of my great-nephew asserting his independence by not wanting to hold anyone's hand while he walks across this short bridge to the playground.

Christmas Eve 2010 - I had a 5x7 printed of this photo and saw a single photo sketch on the Scrapbooks etc blog earlier this week that I thought was perfect for it. I created a December Daily album that records the events of each day in December, so I only included a small title on this layout and no journaling. I really like the way these papers all work together with the photo.

Easter 2010 - I used Core'dinations cardstock for the corners and cut the letters for Easter on my Cricut. The word "Sunday" and the two eggs are brads that I've had in my stash for over a year. I also created a second page to this layout with the same background and green corners. That page includes a collage of family photos. (I realize this layout is primarily blue, but you have to admit that those green corners are what truly catch your eye.)

I hope you'll join me in adding green to your layouts this month as winter turns to spring (at least here in the southern US!).

  5. Nice to see green inspiration! I enjoyed the first layout since it reminds me of my two-year-old. Once they have an ounce of independence, they have no bouts asserting it.
