I had the photos for this first layout on my craft table and had already decided to use some eyelets on it when I saw the Scrapbookers Anonymous April Challenge to use at least 23 eyelets on a layout. I had only pulled out eight eyelets, but I added 15 more for the challenge. Can you find them all?
For this next layout about souvenir pennies, I used Shimelle's March 23 Sketch of the Week and several patterned papers, all striped. I pulled the green and purple colors from my photos and include penny wrappers as part of the title.
Anyone else have lots of purple paper or scraps you want to use from your stash? I'd love to see your creations if you do.
What cool eyelets! Love the purple and how you journaled on the first layout! What great pictures on the 2nd layout! Great idea using empty penny rolls! Thanks for joining in the fun at Scrapbookers Anonymous!!!
ReplyDeletePurple is my favorite color and the biggest section in my paper stash, can't get enough purple!
ReplyDeleteI use to think I didn't like purple, but I actually have several pieces of clothing with various hues of purple. I think I have only ever made two purple layouts, but might have to challenge myself to make a purple layout! Love your layouts Melissa:)
ReplyDeletepurple is my favourite colour (who woulda thunk it?!)
ReplyDeletebut I haven't scrapped with purple for awhile, think I'll have a play!
great layouts, by the way.
I don't know why, but purple does not join the list of colors I love. I don't wear it and would be unlikely to scrap with it. But you certainly do it justice!
ReplyDeleteI really struggle with purple I have to admit - so I'm going to be following along closely this month to see how you use it!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that!!!... Cutest eyelets used... Awesome... Love the purple and how you journaled on the first layout...Lovely photos too... Thank you so much for playing along with US over at scrapbookers Anonymous...hugs...xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say, I found all 23 eyelets! Cute eyelets too. How fun to play along with your sister like that. I wish I had a sister or even daughters to do fun crafty things with! You're lucky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to do a challenge. I don't think I have a lot of purple in my scrap stash? I'm looking forward to seeing what else you make! BFS

I was wondering what your April color was! I have done two layouts with purple recently, two more than the last several years combined, so I've hit my quota! I love purple, have nothing against it, just have a hard time using it! Love your layouts - especially with penny sleeves! Fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your colour combo and great use of eyelets. Thanks for playing along with Scrapbookers Anonymous.xxx
ReplyDeleteYou are really creative with those purple colour combinations! It's not a colour I often use (if ever) - off to see what I've got in it!
ReplyDeletefantastic layouts!!! I struggle to use purple. You did a great job and I love how you used the eyelets to create a banner. Thanks so much for digging in your stash and playing along with us at Scrapbookers Anonymous. =)

ReplyDeleteI think I found all the eyelets! :-) The Girl loves souvenir pennies, she collects them wherever we go xx
ReplyDeleteI do like purple, and am wearing a purple scarf as I type this, but I don't often scrap with it, or even use it for cards often. I'm not sure why.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute eyelets, and they look great on your purple layout! Thanks for playing along with us at Scrapbookers Anonymous!
