Survey Results & Blog Updates

Thanks so much to each of you who participated in my blog survey. I am delighted to find that there is some interest in all of the topics that were listed. The top three topics are scrapbooking, online classes, and book reviews. These three topics are in fact the ones that I write the most about, so it seems I'm on the right track!

You may have noticed a few changes to  my blog over the past week as I've been doing a little updating and clean-up based on one of the prompts in the Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers class. I've updated my Labels to make finding previous topics easier for you. In the sidebar, just click any label to see all posts relating to that topic.

I've also added a few pages to my blog - these are listed at the top of the screen, right under my header photo.

Online Classes - This new page lists the online classes I'm currently taking and then previous classes. This page is still under construction, but should be completed in the next week or so. Clicking on the badge for each class will take you to more information about that class (if it is available) from the online class site. I'm also including a link under each class that will lead you to all my posts about that particular class.

Books Read - This page has been included for a while and lists books that I've read. Clicking on the book title will take you to my review of the book.

Awards & Such - A fun list of awards and challenges I've won.

Please take a moment to check out some of these new pages and let me know what you think!

  2. I like the updates Melissa. Do you know if I need to have a separate feed for each page in my Google Reader, or will you always post to the main page and then archive posts on the other? I don't want to miss anything.

  3. Very nice, love all your new updates! I need to get in gear here, but last week was all about doing for others, so maybe this week things will slow down!!

  4. I will always post to the main page. The other pages will simply contain links back to those original posts – either to the book review or online class info. Just another way to make it easier to look up information on the blog. As long as you are subscribed in your Google Reader, you’ll see all my posts and can then click over to the blog if you want to look up something from a previous post or see all my posts for a particular class together. Thanks so much for asking!

  7. Hi Melissa. I really like the way you've added the tabs across the top of your blog. That makes it easy to go from topic to topic. I like how you've included Labels on your sidebar. Lots of really good updates! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

  8. This reminds me that my blog definitely needs some updating as well, but it will be a few weeks until I get to it. I must remember to come back here and check out all you've done! Looks great.

  9. Really nice, Melissa! I may have to figure out how to do the tabbed pages! I like that idea!

  10. Really like these changes Melissa! I am trying to do the label thing as well, but I also want to create the tabs at the top too. I haven't quite figured it out yet :0 I hope your Easter was lovely :)

  11. I love it! Now I need the tutorial on how to create separate pages (I'd like one that has all my iScrap posts for instance) and how to create links for those labels... care to explain?

  12. I like what you've done, esp. with your classes page. I'd like to do something similar...maybe if I only allow myself to add classes I've actually FINISHED, it might give me the incentive to work on some that still need attention!

  13. Love the awards tab. I've always wanted to keep my sidebars basic and not cluttered with a lot of stuff like awards and such. They are so fun to get and a great compliment but can get out of control. I love your idea - a way to showcase them and keep them all in one place. I may *borrow* this one day. :)

  15. Some days I really dislike the way my Google Reader next button takes me backwards, because that means I am only arriving at this great post now. I think your tabs and your rearranging are looking very very good!
