LOAD Day 6

The Mother LOAD prompt for today was to use a self portrait in our layout. I was tired this evening and almost decided to skip making a layout, however as I was thumbing through my storage binders I can across a couple of fun photos of me decorating for Christmas last year. They are not the best photos of me, but I reminded myself that I don't necessarily need to look posed and poised in every photo. (A great lesson for LSNED!)

I began my layout with Shimelle's Starting Point, a new feature on her blog where she shows the base of a layout and challenges us to create that base as the starting point for our own layout.

I added my photos, journaling & title, and a few embellishments to complete this layout.

Journaling reads: Robbie likes to tease me about my colorful toe socks, especially when I wear them with my capris. I just smile and say, "NOT EVERYONE CAN PULL OFF THIS LOOK."

Do you scrap the not-so-good photos of yourself? Even if you're wearing crazy toe socks?

  4. Very cute! And a neat idea to use the page starter when you were feeling a bit tired. You have reminded me that I need to think about asking the family to take a few more pictures of me too

  6. Looks like you are sticking to LOAD! This is great! Love how yours turned out. I probably triage photos of myself more than others. I typically only print/scrapbook ones I'm happy with and so far, it works for me! :)

  7. You are seriously inspired these days, even when tired! I love these pics of you, you look so happy :) I find that photos I hate become more appealing the farther in time I get from them. I've been thinking of you a lot this week. Are the fires anywhere close to you?
