Shimelle's Fifth Challenge

Honestly, I think I am just having too much fun this weekend thanks to Shimelle. However, this next layout was a bit challenging for me. The task was to use a layout by Wilna Furstenberg as inspiration. Her layout had one large panoramic photo, but I chose to use two 4x6 photos instead. My real challenge came in choosing papers to go with these photos.

Journaling reads: Robbie missed his chance to see the Moscow Ballet when he was in Moscow, so I purchased tickets for us to see the Great Russian Nutcracker when it came to Music Hall at Fair Park here in Dallas.

One of my favorite additions to this layout are the little punched butterflies; these came on a card from Nic Howard along with a prize I won in one of her workshops over a year ago. I originally thought I might use the entire card front on a layout, but I'm glad I peeled the butterflies off to tie this layout together.

I hope you're enjoying all these layouts this weekend as much as I'm enjoying creating them. In between all these bursts of creativity, I've been checking around blogland and adoring other layouts inspired by these challenges.

BTW - my next post will be a very SPECIAL post and will include a GIVEAWAY!

  5. I would've had a tough time choosing papers to go with those photos, as well, since they are just so beautifully varied! But I think you did an amazing job. I love how bright and vibrant the page looks.
