I choose my two colors (maroon & blue) based on colors in my photos and a logo I had cut from a shirt. I'm very pleased with the way this turned out, particularly since I probably would not have chosen these two colors without this fun challenge.
This layout is a classic example of using poorer quality photos - one is a little washed out while the other is too dark, but I was determined to use them both since they are the only two I have of me wearing a sari for the first (and only!) time.
I must admit that there were quite a few safety pins holding that sari in place and I did trip over it a couple of times during the banquet, but I certainly felt elegant in that beautiful material that was brought from India especially for me! I also have a new respect for anyone who can gracefully wear five yards of material all day long without one single safety pin!
The colours work really well together.
ReplyDeletePretty - like the sparkly letters and the strong colours compliment the theme. Some of the colour combinations in Saris are amazing. I smile to see them worn here with winter coats, trousers underneath etc. too.
ReplyDeletea great story to tell, the colours go well too.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! That blue border round the page really draws attention to the blue in the layout - I just love that, very effective
ReplyDeleteI love your layout and the story behind it. Hope none of those safety pins came undone!
ReplyDeleteThe colours DO go well together...and love your comment about safety-painless sari wearers!

This turned out great, Melissa! I can't say that I would have ever used these colors together but it all works because of the photos. Great layout! :)
