As I mentioned in a previous post, I enjoyed working with our cruise photos recently, so I have decided to join in with Noell and her Paperclipping Play Along to complete a scrapbook album in less than 30 days. (It just started, so you can still join in the fun if you have an unfinished album that you're ready to finish up!) I'll be working on our 10th Anniversary Cruise Album, so I used Shimelle's Prompt Two as inspiration for three more layouts for that album.
This first one is my favorite today - the inspiration was to punch circles from your smaller pieces of patterned paper.
For this next layout, I took a scrap of cardstock and cut out triangles for a banner. I used a full sheet of cardstock for my background and cut a strip from a full sheet of Scrabble patterned paper, but the rest of the paper came from my scrap bin.
This last layout only uses a few scraps (along with some washi tape and bling) to showcase photos of the Ice Show we saw on board. The photos weren't all that great, but I really like how this page depicts the busy excitement of the show.
I have all my cruise layouts together in an album, however they are still in random order. Over the next few days I'll be reviewing Noell's prompt and making a plan for organizing and completing this album and will share my plan with you soon.
We're going on a Royal Caribbean cruise this year....so your pages are doubly interesting to me.
ReplyDeleteLove how you've worked the Scrabble page.
I love your layouts about the cruise. Those circles you made out of scraps definitely resemble water to me. Great ideas here.
ReplyDeleteLove scrabble so now am going to go looking for scrabble papers... Cruise looks fun and the show definitely looks energetic.
ReplyDeletePunching circles is one of my favourite things to do with small scraps of pp, well circles, arrows and hearts :)
Good luck on the 30 day challenge I saw that but I've got three mini albums to do so figured that wasn't quite the same
You should be teaching the class on using scraps :) Love all three layouts!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of scraps, Melissa :) I love the banner especially!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of our most recent discussion of the Paperclipping Roundtable -- choosing classes that you can do simultaneously, rather than over-committing to too many projects. It's fun to see you using Shimelle's challenges with mine. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, love those circle punches. Layered punched circles have always been a favorite way of mine to use paper and I was just thinking yesterday about how I haven't done it in a while.
Gorgeous colors on the cruise ship!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the cheeky "me" on the who will win page.

Love the patterned paper circles on the first layout---and gorgeous photo of that cruise ship.
ReplyDeleteSuch happy pages ..it's easy to see how you were celebrating
ReplyDeleteFun layouts! I have TONS of scraps!! Should declutter that area too!!
