There are hundreds of vendors spread out over acres of land, so we've never covered the entire flea market in a day. We typically just start near an area in the back and wander around looking for items to add to Robbie's collectibles. It's always interesting to see all the
There are lots of food vendors spread throughout the flea market as well, and we tried something for the first time - fried Oreos! They were quite tasty: Oreo cookies covered with funnel cake batter, deep fried to golden perfection, all washed down with an ice-cold Coca Cola. (Yes, I realize that doesn't sound like the healthy eating choices I'm trying to make this year, but I promise we walked quite a few miles and probably burned off some of those calories at least!)
I was ready for a snack by the time Robbie chose these from one of the food trailers, so I forgot to snap a photo and had to go back for this picture of the sign!

Well, that's a new one on me! I admire your stamina on the Oreo front. Lovely to see the photos of the flea market - there must have been such a lot to look at. That's a lovely photo of the two of you - like your stripey hat.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that sounds like the PERFECT place
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend a few hours at that flea market; sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds a little like that infamous Scottish snack..deep fried mars bar. I haven't tried it but I've heard it's delicious. Your flea market sounds wonderful and I'd love it if we had something like that here.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great week
Lovely photo of you & Robbie. Your adventure to the flea market has intrigued me to try our local flea market, when it opens in the spring. it is quite large so I am sure there is something there for me to discover. I would want to try those deep fried Oreo but I just know my digestive tract would scream for mercy moments afterwards. I will take your word that they were delicious :)
ReplyDeleteThat flea market looks/sounds like it is right up my alley! Our outdoor flea markets all open beginning the first of April. Jay and I are definitely itching to leave the thrift stores behind for a bit!
ReplyDeleteAll that walking and looking at all that stuff would create quite an appetite. Sounds like really made it count.
ReplyDeleteAll things in moderation - including moderation. Glad you tried the deep fried oreos. I was very sad when I realised my taste buds had changed and I didn't like either oreos or sodas anymore.
ReplyDeleteHope Robbie found some interesting junk/stuff to take home too.
Love the pic of you two and your hat, do not love deep fried oreos lo A friend got them a few years ago at the State Fair and insisted I try them, way too sweet for me. Sounds like a relaxing and FUN day ;)
ReplyDeleteThat really does sound like a fun day out! It's always lovely looking for new treasures, you never know what you will find. And those fried Oreos sound amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love adventures like this! :) Thanks for linking up.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Deep Fried Oreos are one of my weaknesses as well. So so good. ;)
