Hello April!

Wow, it seems like March flew by! It was fabulous for us - at the beginning of the month, Robbie was offered a new job (which he started today). We took advantage of the three weeks he had off between jobs to take a long road trip, work on some projects here at home, relax and have FUN!

This change definitely affected how well I did (or rather didn't do) on my five focus goals (MOVE, LEARN, TEACH, SCRAP, CLEAN).

MOVE - My exercise goal was at least 30 minutes each day. I actually only exercised 10 days during March, however we also did a good bit of sightseeing and two days of hiking on our trip. I did work on my activity goal by mowing, weeding, and edging the yard, as well as spreading eight bags of new mulch in the flower beds. And we had lots of adventure on our trip (which I'll be sharing about over the next few weeks), plus that Saturday at Canton Trade Days and a visit with my sister, brother-in-law and twin nieces at the Dallas World Aquarium a few days ago.

This month I have scheduled nine workouts with  my personal trainer and will be riding the stationary bike and taking walks as often as possible. I'll also be maintaining the yard now that spring has arrived and the grass (and weeds!) are growing. And I'm hoping to get in a little adventure trip to a zoo while I'm on a quick road trip with my Mama this weekend.

LEARN - I read seven books in March and caught up on the materials and my pages for the FIT 2016 workshop.  I learned quite a bit on our road trip (which you can read about in those upcoming posts). For April, I am planning to attend a couple of in-person classes, read more books (of course!), and finally start on the materials in the Teach What You Do e-course.

TEACH - I taught a couple of illustrated Bible journaling workshops at Scrappin' Goodtime early in the month, but rescheduled my other classes so we could enjoy Robbie's time off. This month I have three days of teaching scheduled, which are listed HERE.

SCRAP - It probably won't come as much of a surprise that I didn't do much scrapbooking during the month! (Other than that Cascade Gardens page kit and beach layout!) However, I did use some of my scrappy supplies creating Minion Easter Eggs. This month I'm hoping to make some progress on my scrapbooking goals as well as catch up on my digital workflow. Part of  my plan includes processing the photos from our trip and creating layouts as I go.

CLEAN - We spent the early part of this week building, painting and installing a shelf along three walls of the new toy room, about 14 inches down from the ceiling. This will give Robbie some extra display space as he moves his collectibles over the next few weeks. Our goal this month is to get everything moved out of the old room so we can begin turning it into a dining room/library.

Did you accomplish your goals for March? What are your plans for April?

  1. Congrats to Robbie on the new job! I know he's been looking to make a change for awhile. I hope this job gives him the challenges he's looking for. I'll be looking forward to hearing about your road trip. We were gone all but five days in March, so my goals have been on hold. We still have one more trip planned for April, but I think I'll be back on track by the end of the month.

  3. Congrats to Robbie on the new job!

The minions were excellent..one of the best crafting projects I saw anywhere over March, so even if you didn't do much scrapbooking, you still had great crafting success

  4. Congratulations to Robbie - best of luck with the new job. Looking forward to hearing about your road trip. Your April looks like it will be busy.

I have surgery planned for next week and then convalescing for 2 weeks. Want to try and keep up the exercise as much as I can. We then have a weekend with friends in Wales. Oh yes and I am meeting up with 2 friends from school to celebrate our 50th birthdays and hopefully have a craft show to go to in Kent.

  5. Congrats to Robbie on his new position - YAY!! And I love the idea of that gallery shelf - I could use one of those to house some of my collectibles.

  7. Oh my gosh. The yellow of the toy room just makes me sooo happy. I love how your are working on your goals. I was just thinking this morning that I need to spend some time focusing on my one word, which is a goal of sorts for me!

  8. Oh, and while I wanted to say, I love that you are scheduled and committed to teaching Bible Journaling. I haven't met many local people here who do it, but I was hoping for an opportunity to teach it here. I am not much of a teacher in this area, however. I find that before I can say anything, every adult in the room starts asking me twenty questions, I politely answer, and any hope of managing a sequential "how to" evaporates. I have tried saying "Hold your questions," but I may not be 'firm" enough with my resolve to make them wait! Do you have any tips for me?
