It's Day 1 of Shimelle's new class, The 20 Project, and I'm looking forward to using the class INSPIRATION to do a lot of scrapbooking! Today's prompt encouraged us to take a look at our album for the current time period.
While I've scrapped several stories and photos from this year, I realized I had not yet included anything from our vacations to Arizona and California or my trip to New York. These large trips tend to yield lots of photos, which can sometimes be overwhelming. I have processed some of the photos, purging and sharing a few here on my blog, but it's definitely time to start scrapping those memories.
For today's layout, I chose my favorite snap from the spontaneous photo shoot I set up before we headed to Arizona back in March.
I took some INSPIRATION from Shimelle's sample layout but altered it to fit with my large photo. I was bummed when I realized I was out of map themed patterned paper, however a quick thumb through my Cultural Memorabilia Box yielded an old Texas map that works perfectly as a background!
This layout will actually reside in our Places We've Been album because it's more about how we're always up for a road trip than it is about any particular trip.
Of course, we enjoy all types of trips, but there's a big difference between driving and flying.
I've printed several smaller photos from this photo shoot to use as an intro page for the Arizona trip, and I'm hoping to get those on a layout next! What are you scrapping this week?
LOVE this layout; the map is such a perfect background for your FUN photo!
ReplyDeleteI love all the little details on this first layout. I really like the bit of doily and filmstrip at the top of the page and repeated throughout the page. The colors are perfect for an Americana type page without looking too patriotic.
ReplyDeleteSaw your LO on the class forum, but didn't know how to comment there. I love your LO, such vibrant colours and the map for a background really works well. Looking forward to see more from you in the class!
ReplyDeleteThe map is absolutely perfect. Clever quick thinking!
ReplyDeleteYou are right: there is such a difference between driving and flying. I'd take a road trip every time.
I love this! I may have to scraplift ...
ReplyDeleteI love a road trip, definitely willing to go anytime. It is one of the reasons I need to learn to drive so Wookie doesn't end up doing it all.
