I had intended to scrap our February stories and photos in March. I did, in fact, print the photos and sort the memorabilia, but I actually only completed one layout toward that goal during the month of March.
This page showcases screenshots I took of our twin nieces opening their birthday cards & gifts. I included two doily dresses to match the ones on their cards. This layout is based on a sketch from the old BPC 28 Days of Sketches class. As part of my goal to review these old classes, I printed a copy of all 28 sketches and am using them for INSPIRATION.
In April, I completed one more layout, which I shared HERE. I spent today celebrating interNational Scrapbook Day here at home, scrapbooking the remaining photos and stories. I used this Scrapbook & Cards Today 2-page sketch as INSPIRATION for a layout about the Fresh Grounded Faith event.
I took several liberties with the sketch as I had more photos. I cut the title and other labels from the brochure I received at the event and added in a little handwritten journaling.
The one-page layout about the DIY Cardmaking class I taught at the library is also based on a sketch from the old BPC 28 Days of Sketches class.
Of course, I had to use another doily dress on this layout since I taught that FUN technique to the ladies in this class.
I used a 6-pocket divided page protector for the next two layouts. The front has journaling about Robbie being really sick at the beginning of the month and his boss bringing by ingredients for chicken soup. The other photos depict some of the meals we had at home and out during the month.
The back side of that page protector holds various photos of life around here in February.
And, finally, my favorite layout of the day is all about books. I started with a wonderful piece of patterned paper covered with book spines.
This was a FUN layout to put together with a photo of us at a bookstore, Robbie's continually growing
to-read pile, a couple of books I received in the mail, and lots of
bits & pieces for embellishments.
Mama & my friend Michelle joined me for the day, and they each completed quite a few layouts, also.
How did you celebrate interNational Scrapbook Day this year?
A truly memorable scrapbooking day, then. I love how you added samples of the doily dresses to your page: that kind of "souvenir" scrapping is just the best.
ReplyDeleteLucky you, to have crafty friends and relatives to spend the day with; and so nice that all of you got so much accomplished. I need to establish a National Scrapbook Week or should it be month, in order to catch up!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend NSD than scrapping with friends/family. I like your version of the Scrapbook Cards layout.
