I don't remember ever hearing any stories about George Muller or the orphanages he began in Bristol, England, in the early 1800s. So, I really didn't know what to expect when I received Answers to Prayer (free from B&H Publishers in exchange for an honest review). The copy I received is one of the volumes in a series of books designed for reading and reflecting on classics like The Pilgrim's Progress and The Christian's Secret to a Happy Life.
Answers to Prayer is a collection of diary entries from George Muller that chronicle how he depended solely on the Lord to provide the means to begin and continue an orphanage that eventually grew into five houses. His primary goal was to offer proof that God answered prayers, so he never asked others for help - he simply prayed and waited for provision . . . and it always came!
This Read & Reflect edition also includes personal reflection questions, journaling prompts, study questions and a prayer prompt at the end of each chapter.
I thoroughly enjoyed this little book and Muller's testimony of the faithfulness of God to answer our prayers if we will fully trust and believe!
