The Woman's Study Bible

I have quite a few Bibles (hardback, paperback, leather bound, study Bibles, journaling Bibles, illustrated Bibles) in a variety of translations (KJV, NKJV, NIV, HCS, ESV, Amplified, Interlinear). While I utilize many of these, my favorite version for studying the Word is the New King James Version. So, I was delighted to receive The NKJV Woman's Study Bible (free from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review).

This Bible is absolutely beautiful! The gorgeous floral design on the cloth cover is carried throughout the Bible in full color as a header at the beginning of each book and as frames around the 300+ topical articles. This somewhat hefty book has a lay-flat binding and large readable text. There are quotes from godly women scattered throughout and numerous study aids: verse-by-verse study notes, biographical portraits of 100+ biblical women, book introductions and outlines, topical index, concordance, maps, charts, timelines, etc.

I was preparing to teach illustrated Bible journaling workshops on the book of Ruth when I received this Bible, so I immediately turned to Ruth and read through the study materials and articles. I especially like how the notes and various features of this Bible appeal to women's interests and highlight women throughout scriptures.

I'm looking forward to studying the book of Esther this week as I prepare for more workshops this coming Saturday. This is definitely a Bible I'll be picking up often as I dive into the Word! If you're looking for a new study Bible or a gift for a special woman in your life, I highly recommend this one.

  1. That is one beautiful Bible! I also have several Bibles in several translations. When I was in a study group reading the Psalms, reading the different translations was very enlightening.
