  1. I've been to all three cities---loved them---but so long ago that no recommendations would be worth much! Besides I was staying in youth hostels, and I'll bet your accommodations will be considerably better. What a fun trip to be planning!

  2. A three city break, how lovely! How long will you be in London for? And funnily enough, I was just suggesting Amsterdam as a short time during the October half-term!

  3. Having only done London - and not being a big fan of big cities to begin with... take a tour bus package outside of London - we did one that took us to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral that I greatly enjoyed. Within London - spend a day seeing the iconic sights - Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, etc. We did the Buckingham Palace tour as well and to be quite honest I didn't love it - image the dining room of the Southfork Ranch on steroids - a lot of gilding, opulence, and over-indulgent display of wealth. I much preferred the castles that were basically ruins! If you have the opportunity and can get tickets, I HIGHLY recommend the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play. If I had the opportunity to go back again I would do one of the Harry Potter day tours where you get to see the sites where the movies were filmed.
