Hello 2020

I'm back and waving hello to each of you and to 2020!

The beginning of this year has been filled with busy times as well as slow relaxing times. I've also enjoyed quite a bit of creative time, which I'm looking forward to sharing with y'all in upcoming posts. For today, here's a quick peek at the past month and a half.

Family
I've especially enjoyed spending time with most of my family over the past several weeks. First, I went out to visit Mama & Daddy's one day, and Mama made a yummy batch of fudge! Then,
my nephew, his wife, and my great-nephew stopped by for an overnight visit as they were passing through the Dallas area. My parents came out as well, and we enjoyed playing games late into the night. Earlier this month, we enjoyed a two-day road trip to celebrate my twin nieces' 15th birthday! We took Daddy with us and celebrated his 73rd birthday with a lunch out the next day. A couple of days later, my niece Pun'kin came to visit for a whole week!

Travel
Robbie's traveled for business to New Delhi (India), New York, and Boston. I'm so thankful for technology that allows us to stay connected when he's away!!

Cleaning/Decluttering
I've been doing some cleaning and organizing that's resulted in quite a bit of decluttering as well. After reorganizing our closet (to make a more convenient spot for Robbie's suitcase and other travel paraphernalia), I donated a large bag of clothes and shoes to our local community outreach. Once Robbie and I had scanned all our bookshelves, we took three boxes of books to Half Price Books (a store that buys used books). And, since I only wear toe socks now, I finally decided it was time to let go of the drawer full of happy socks that haven't been worn in a couple of years (or not at all). I packed four happy mail packages and sent them off to my nieces (with a couple of books included for two of them). [I forgot to take a photo of those packages, but my niece Nichole sent me this FUN photo with a thank you when her package arrived.]

Weather
As
always, the weather here in Texas has been eclectic. We've had sunshine with temperatures in the 70s, cloudy and rainy with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, and even one day of snow flurries with temperatures below freezing!

Overall, it's been a pretty good start to the year. How about you? Is your year off to a good start?

  1. Good to see you back! 2020 has been pretty good around here - but it does seem to be flying by. We have spent time with family too and gotten in a couple of short trips, but nothing as exotic as Robbie. I bet you're glad to have him home!

  2. You've been busy! It's always nice to spend time with family. We had our first "family game night" in January with our three daughters and two significant others, plus Millie. It was a lot of FUN and we have another one scheduled for end of February.

  4. Happy to see you pop up in Feedly! Sounds like a great start; there's nothing better than family time! We'll soon be off to see Sarah and her family for a week. Luckily, we had time with our granddaughters twice last week.
