Just sharing a couple of miscellaneous cards today. First, I had a few papers from the Authentique Fabulous Collection 6x6 pad in my stash of paper scraps that worked perfect for layering on a birthday card for our sister-in-law. These retro papers are so FUN, aren't they!
The Mother's Day card I created for Mama was actually a card kit I purchased from our local scrapbook store. This beautiful card went together quickly, then I just added Stickles to give the swan some sparkle!
I really like the way both of these cards turned out. Do you use paper scraps or card kits? Which do you prefer?
I'm not a card maker at all. :) I do like the retro papers - they always make me think of a more glamorous time (although I'm sure the reality was far from that).
ReplyDeleteYour cards turned out well, pretty colours on the swan card. I have used scraps, but not an actual card kit.
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkle you added to the swan.I don't think I've ever used a card kit for a specific card, although I subscribe to Simon Says monthly kit. It comes with a sheet of inspiration, but I rarely pay much attention to it. I have a files of scraps by color in my file drawer and I use them regularly.
ReplyDeleteI do like kits. It's nice to have everything coordinated and the finished look is wonderful. However, even though it's a lot more work I feel a sense of accomplishment when I come up with my own creation don't you?
ReplyDeleteI am late in getting around, but this is the second post today with a mention of cherries - each made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI will buy an occasional card kit if it tells me everything to do - I am at a loss if it is just a stamp set and papers though. Why this is so much different than a scrapbook kit with paper and embellishments, I just don't know. Must be a mental block on my part. Most of my cards these days are from scraps with little stamping, although I have an extensive collection of stamps. One of these days I will start working through it.
